1. Kampong Glam and the Malay Culture
In search of our past we find “Kampong Glam” – located in the City Area- transferring us back into the ‘good old times’. The seat of Singapore’s former Royalties will also introduce Malay Traditions, Customs and Practices as well as an insight into Islam. The origins, festivals and practices are reinforced by a visit to the Sultans Mosque.
Remember ‘kuti-kuti’, ‘gasing’ and ‘five stone’? In Kampong Glam these traditional games live on! The tour’s commentary also includes information on the different type of Malays, the do’s and don’ts in Malay Etiquette as well as basic principles of Islam. A visit to the Malay Heritage Centre can be included. .

To further underline how precious resource and space is to Singapore a visit to the New Water Plant will show an innovative way to utilise the water we have and make it into a drinkable water resource of our own.
