2. The Governance Trail
The historical landmarks such as City Hall and Supreme Court, the Padang and Victoria Memorial Hall stand witness to Singapore’s growth as a nation. The Padang witnessed the signing of the Treaty on 6 Feb 1819 but also the humiliation of English Lords becoming prisoner of war under the Japanese.
See City Hall where the Japanese surrender papers were signed, the same chambers where the swearing in ceremony of our Prime Ministers took place.
Enter the Supreme Court of Singapore and find out why High Court Judges wore wigs.
The highlight of this trip is a visit to an actual Court Room in the new Supreme Court Building.
3. The Dark Years – the Battlefields of World War II
This tour is created to bring the complexity of World War II down to a level students of this age group can understand and relate to.
The delivery of the tour content will be done on and off the coach; A4 size photographs of the war will be an effective tool of communication. Questions like ‘How do wars start?’ and ‘What is it like to live under Japanese Occupation?’ or ‘Who are our real war heroes?’ will be answered to separate fact from fiction.
