Tour 2. Governance Trail
The seat of administration and government, the buildings and the Padang records and narrates Singapore’s history from Sultan Hussein and Sir Stamford Raffles to Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.
After 40 years of Independence, we return to the birthplace of our Nation to celebrate. The students will be engaged not only in the history, events but also the relevance in today’s modern Singapore. Democracy, Peace, Justice, Equality and Progress are enshrined in the Civic District. Esplanade, The Theatres on the Bay, Civilian War Memorial, Tan Kim Seng Fountain, the Empress Place Building, Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall, Raffles Landing Site, Old Parliament House, Supreme Court and City Hall, Lim Bo Seng Memorial, Dalhousie Memorial, Cenotaph. Take a bumboat ride on the historical Singapore River for a special experience.
Highlight: Visit to the Singapore Supreme Court and an actual Court Room /Parliament Chamber at Parliament House*

Tour 3 Needs of a Nation – URA City Gallery - NeWater Plant - HDB Gallery- Singapore River Cruise
Singapore’s progress as a nation in industry, transport and education, recreation and information technology is showcased at the URA City Gallery.
In this Interactive Centre students will be able to see how planning and decision making is done in land scarce Singapore. What are our assets and how are they maximized for the future?
To further underline how precious resource and space is to Singapore you can combine the City Gallery with one of the following stops:
- A visit to the New Water Plant will show an innovative way to utilize the water we have and make it into a drinkable water resource of our own.
- Housing and Development Board - visit the HDB Hub and be engaged by the hive of activities. Not only can Singaporeans apply and book their new flats, but you can take a sneak preview of what will be available in the New Town all over the island. Take a look at the ‘Fabric of a Nation’ and find out if the objective of this tour is reflected there.
- Cruise on the historic Singapore River – see how the past, present and future come together.
